In order to better protect the ARC-170 starfighter from enemy space superiority fighters, the Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing was designed. Its compact design and twin light laser cannons, combined with the highly efficient ion reactor core and low production costs, have made it the successor to the V-19 Torrent starfighter in mass production.
