The game rules are set by the admins and compliance is monitored by them. If you suspect that a player is violating the rules, you can contact support in-game. The support button is found on the right-hand menu after logging in.

The operator reserves the right to change these terms of use at any time and apply new rules retroactively (e.g. if users find new ways to exploit). These terms are referenced during registration. The game rules and terms are always valid in their most current version and binding for all players!

§1 Participation

Participation in this browser game is free of charge. Separate rules may apply for the communication systems (e.g. forum, wiki, and chat) in HEGA: Game and Communication Rules. Violations of the rules may lead to termination of the player's membership – the decision lies solely with the operator of this browser game. We recommend the game for participants aged 16 and older. We strongly advise younger users not to participate and reserve the right to exclude underage players for child protection reasons.

§2 Accounts

2.1 Each participant is allowed only one game account per galaxy and only one forum account in total! Creating or playing more than one account in the same galaxy (multi-accounting) is prohibited, as is sharing an account with another person (account sharing), and will lead to deletion of all involved accounts!
2.2 If two or more accounts log in from the same connection in the same galaxy without prior notice to support (and compliance with §3) or without activating sitting mode, it will be considered multi-accounting and all accounts will be blocked or deleted.
2.3 If the admins reasonably believe that such a violation (see 2.1 and 2.2) was unintentional, a one-time warning and possibly a temporary ban may be issued instead of account deletion.
2.4 Punishments for serious offenses (e.g. severe insults or script circumvention) apply to the player, not the account, and are enforced across galaxies and forums.

§3 Shared Connections

Multiple independent people may not permanently play in the same galaxy from the same connection, network, or device without first notifying support and getting approval. The reason for the shared connection must be provided (e.g. family). These accounts must belong to different factions to prevent unfair advantages. All interaction between these accounts is forbidden (trading, attacking, etc.), except for communication and information sharing. For short overlaps (<72h), sitting mode should be used.

§4 Liability and Ownership

Each player is responsible for their account! The operators are not liable if an account is misused due to negligence (e.g. sharing login data). All accounts and their contents are property of the game operator. Accounts and their contents cannot be transferred, sold, or auctioned after leaving the game. Players have no claims for availability or compensation of earned progress.

§5 Data for Rule Enforcement
Only data verifiable by support will be used as a basis for rule enforcement.

§6 Inactivity/Vacation

Players inactive for more than 28 days are automatically and permanently deleted. This also applies to players in vacation mode, unless they notify support (via support button in-game) in advance if their vacation will last longer than 28 days, including a return date. Accounts are kept for a maximum of 12 weeks. New signups will be deleted after 24 hours if not confirmed and logged in.

§7 Scripts / Bugs

Beginner protection, Sitting, pushing (resources, ships, etc.), bashing, blackmailing, Podracing, Sabacc and many other mechanics are regulated by scripts. Details are available in the wiki and forum. Exploiting or attempting to exploit a bug (even unknown ones) is forbidden and punished depending on severity (item removal, temp ban, permanent deletion). This applies to all in-game functions, even if not explicitly listed.

§8 Accounts Without Intent to Play

We reserve the right to ban accounts that show no intent to play independently but are used solely to benefit another player. Indicators include extreme passivity, minimal development, frequent vacation mode, and interaction with only one (or very few) other players. Examples include one-sided resource trades, parking fleets to save maintenance, or intentional zone manipulation.

§9 Grey Areas

Grey areas are actions that may not clearly violate the rules but go against the spirit of the game. If you're unsure whether your strategy is allowed, ask via in-game ticket first! Exploiting grey areas without asking will be punished.

§10 Name Changes & Faction Switches

Player name changes cost credits equal to their points (rounded up to the nearest thousand). Alliance name changes cost credits equal to the average member score (rounded up), paid by one member. Change requests must be submitted via ticket in-game. These are low priority. Faction or galaxy changes are not allowed.

§11 Fair Play

To ensure fair gameplay, players are encouraged to report any violations (e.g. scripting, multi-accounting) they observe to support.

§12 Attacks on the Game, Forum or Servers

Any attack on the game, forum, or servers may be reported to authorities. This includes any programs, scripts, or actions that disrupt or alter game behavior. Offenders will lose access to their account and the game.

§13 Proxies / Anonymization

Using proxies (including company proxies) or anonymizers to mask IPs is forbidden. These IPs will be banned and associated accounts deleted. This is to prevent false positives for multi-accounting.

§14 Data Privacy

All in-game activity is logged to ensure rule compliance and legal obligations. Logs are handled according to data protection laws and are automatically deleted after a retention period. No personal information is deliberately collected or logged.
