Points and Ranking
Points
General
Points are calculated by adding:
- Building points
- Research points
- Fleet points
- Points from ground units
- Points from defense structures
This also includes all units currently on a fleet mission.
Units, buildings, or defense structures under construction and ongoing research projects are only added after completion.
Increasing Points
Points can be increased through the following activities:
- Constructing buildings
- Constructing units
- Completing research
- Purchasing units
Loss of Points
Points can be lost through the following actions:
- Deleting colonies (only via support ticket)
- Losing units (defenses / ships / ground units)
- Selling units
Point Weighting
Since version 4, all buildable or researchable game objects are assigned to Economy, Military, or Technology. Each object has a fixed point value that cannot be changed by research.
You can find out the point distribution easily by hovering over the point value in the build or research menu, or by looking it up here in the Wiki.
Point Update
Since HEGA must send data from your open application to the HEGA server and wait for a response, there may be a delay between point changes (e.g., due to building construction) and what is displayed in the open application.
If you believe your or another player's points are not accurate, you can click the "Update Points" button on your profile or someone else's to have your points and ranking recalculated. If it turns out the points were incorrect, you’ll be notified and the ranking corrected immediately. Changes in points may also result in a rise or fall in your Protection Zones.
Rankings
Placements / Leaderboard
In the left-hand menu of HEGA, you'll find the link to the leaderboard. It shows your rank and total points. You can also see each player’s faction and alliance/empire. Since version 3.5, there is also a ranking by Economy, Technology, and Military points! Your leaderboard rank can differ across these four categories depending on your focus.
You can also sort the leaderboard by faction. At the top center, select the faction or choose "all". This allows you to see your rank within your faction. Your rank will be shown on the right and on the respective leaderboard page.
Rank System / Killboard
Toward the end of version 4.3, the rank system and corresponding killboard were introduced. To appear in this leaderboard and earn the coveted rank badges, the following conditions must be met:
1.) Only battles where ships worth at least 10,000 points were destroyed are counted.
2.) The first four ranks can be achieved by destroying enemy ships, regardless of your own losses:
| Rank Republic | Rank CIS | Rank Rebellion | Rank Empire | Total Destroyed Points | K/D Leaderboard Position |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Corporal | Corporal | Lieutenant | Sergeant | 33,000 | - |
| Sergeant | Sergeant | Captain | Lieutenant | 150,000 | - |
| Master Chief | Lieutenant | Major | Captain | 600,000 | - |
| Lieutenant | Captain | Commander | Commander | 1,000,000 | - |
3.) The rank Commander must be achieved. From there, rank advancement is only possible if you're among the Top 100 (or higher) of your faction in terms of destroyed vs. lost units (Kill-Death Ratio = K/D). These are competitive ranks that can be lost again.
| Rank Republic | Rank CIS | Rank Rebellion | Rank Empire | Total Destroyed Points | K/D Leaderboard Position |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Captain | Commander | Colonel | Commodore | 1,000,000 | Top 100 |
| Colonel | Commodore | Commodore | Vice Admiral | 1,000,000 | Top 50 |
| Fleet Commander | Vice Admiral | Admiral | Admiral | 1,000,000 | Top 25 |
| Admiral | Admiral | Fleet Admiral | High Admiral | 1,000,000 | Top 5 |
| Fleet Admiral | Supreme Commander | Supreme Commander | Grand Admiral | 1,000,000 | Rank 1 |
Please note!
Currently, all players of a faction are considered in the K/D leaderboard rankings for competitive rank assignment – regardless of their current rank. As a result, the first player to reach the required total points for a competitive rank may not immediately receive the top rank if others with fewer total destroyed points have a better K/D ratio. For version 5, we plan to consider only players who have reached the competitive point threshold for these ranks – until then, the above system remains in effect.
